Don’t Want To Pay For a DJ? Why Not Hire A Live Band

| July 5, 2011 | Comments(1)

Are you giving a party? Do you want it to be hugely successful? What can you do? Try inviting high profile guests – if you know any!- and ask the best caterers to provide the best food and wine in a wonderful venue. All done?

But what about the music? Just a step from the usual DJ to a live music band, and there, you have got it. The ‘Party of the Season’ tag!

Hiring a live music band performing hits after hits is the surest way to make your party a huge success.

Good live music can invariably turn a party from good to fantastic which the guests are going to remember for a long time to come.

For all kinds of the parties or the events, you can hire a live band. It can be the wedding or it can be the anniversaries, reunion parties or the birthday parties, corporate parties or the farewell ones. A good live band will be secret of success of a party.

In case of wedding parties and birthdays, specific music bands can be hired who are experts in those specific functions. These are usually known as function bands whose expertise lies in churning out the numbers and creating the right mood in these specific functions.

There are also other types of bands which play music by genre or music by decades or even play music to pay tribute to legendary musicians and bands by imitating them. You will have a large selection of bands to choose from.

The best party is undoubtedly the most creative one. Now how does one churn out a creative party? The best way to do is to select a theme first. Think a little out of the box and come with an interesting theme. Even if it’s the usual old theme such as Halloween, etc you can always be creative in the way you plan your party around it. Use themed decor and food and drinks that go with your theme. One might also have a particular themed dress code for he guests. But what would really make your theme come alive is your live music band churning out just the right numbers.

A hugely hit theme party owes a lot to the music band which caused the guests to actually live the theme. Hence, choosing the right band for your party is the most crucial step. If you are having a Latino night make sure that you get a band that can churn out Latino hits after hits. So along with the Mexican decor and the Mexican cuisine, you should have your guests jiving away to the tunes of Ricky Martin, Shakira or even Carlos Santana in their Mexican hats.

On the other hand, if you are thinking of old-friends-get-together sort of a party, say a reunion, going for a decade band or a tribute band is going to be your best bet.

If it is a college reunion then it can be a nostalgic one if the band plays music of the pink Floyd or the Beatles which were popular during your student years.

There are various places where you would get the right music band for your party. The internet and the local yellow pages are your basic starting points which would give you hundreds of them to choose from. More reliable sources would be word of mouth and references from friends and relatives.

In case you want to outsource the entire responsibility then getting hold of a local event management Company to hire a band for you is a good idea. Whichever way you go, hire your music band only after you have interviewed them, otherwise there is always a chance of landing up with an unprofessional band.

You can call the bands up and then listen to their suggestions, what they feel or what they can do or what they cannot do.

Moreover, be sure to check out how spontaneous they are at playing requests from audiences as this is one of the surest ways of making a party a huge hit.

Moreover, one should always check out before hand whether the venue has the necessary permission to host live bands in their premises. Coming to know of such restrictions at the last moment may ruin all the effort that you have put in till now.

When everything has been double-checked relax! This is going to be an absolutely amazing party!
